PTF Meeting Minutes December 5, 2017

Fairview Christian School PTF Meeting Tuesday, December 5, 2017   In Attendance: Jennifer Laible (Events), Lori Sperry, Alice & Joel Hansen (Co-Presidents), Kevin Tucker (Technology), Tricia Monsanto (Secretary),  Pastor Jo McClimans, Lonni  Cerezo,  Sherri  Hainje, Alexa Haucke (Student Rep), Malia Dominique (Student Rep), Rachel Howden, and Mike Haucke Meeting started at 6:30pm. Joel Opened in prayer. Upcoming Events: (Alice Hansen) 12/7 – School Christmas program @ 7:00pm 12/12 – Childcare Center Christmas program at 7:00pm 12/13 – EATT 12/15 – Noon Dismissal/ Ugly sweater day 1/22-1/26 – Book Fair. Volunteers needed 1/25 – Cultural Dinner and Open House. Bring food to share. More info to come.  Fundraising: (Alice Hansen) Bake Sale (Valerie Dominique) – raised $28.00 Tuesday SCRIP – SCRIP is available for sale at both Christmas programs. Obtain info in office. Wreath Fundraiser – Earned over $900.00 Freezer Meals (Alice Hansen) – Meals are available. Inquire in the office. Playground: (Alice Hansen) Met with Sustainable Seattle about when/if Phase 2 will start. Volunteers needed to help build raised beds required in order to complete Phase 1. CYO Sports: (Alice Hansen) Basketball season has begun. Parent Lead Activities: (Alice Hansen) Hour of code for the week of 12/4 every day after school Technology: (Kevin Tucker) Smart Boards have been added in classrooms. Computers have been put in the Kindergarten class. Next class to receive computers is 1st & 2nd Requesting to upgrade parking lot cameras. Auditorium now wired for sound and projectors added. PTF Meeting Minutes November 14, 2017

Fairview Christian School PTF Minutes November 14, 2017 Attendees:  Alice Hansen, Valerie Dominique, Tiffany Gray, Kevin Kindrick, Tamara Walker, Lori Sperry, Jill McAdams, Kevin Tucker, Stacy Mitchell, Malia Dominique, Whitney Haucke and Alexa Haucke. Alice opened the meeting in prayer. Upcoming calendar & events were reviewed. Please note the meeting (and Family Fund Bake Sale) in January will be the 2nd week in January – on January 9, 2018! Fundraising – Wreaths arrive the week of 11/28. We need volunteers to organize and pass out the wreaths. SCRIP – make sure and buy your Christmas presents or Christmas gift cards using SCRIP. Outreach – Family Fund Bake Sale – Valerie reported that there needs to be a little better organization of the bake sale. Since all students now get out of school at the same time, there is a rush of students at the table and it pretty chaotic in the hallway. Freezer Meal Program – still need frozen meals Playground Committee – Rain garden is in and is working well. It captures an estimated 5,000 square feet of roof water and keeps it out of the sewer.  Fairview celebrated with a ribbon cutting ceremony.  This was good publicity for the school.  Signage for the garden will be installed soon.  There is a meeting tomorrow, November 15, with DePave Seattle.  Quoted cost of new playground is now at $100k.  This is more than FCS can afford at the time, and we don’t want to delay the installation of the playground for much longer.  Alice & Stacy have been looking for grants and other income sources to help with this...

Fairview Christian School PTF Meeting Tuesday,  October 3,  2017   In Attendance:   Jennifer Laible (Events), Alice & Joel Hansen (Co-Presidents), Holly Reichmann (CYO),  Stacy Mitchell (Playground/Marketing  Committee), Kevin Tucker (Technology), Tricia Monsanto (Secretary),  Pastor Glenn McClimans, Pastor Jo McClimans, Kent  Davis(Principal), Lonni  Cerezo,  Sherri Hainje, Bev Lehman, Whitney Haucke, and Alexa Haucke. Meeting started at 6:30pm. Introduction of Guest Speaker:  Alice Hansen Guest Speaker: Nancy from Sustainable Seattle Explained Fairview’s Depave Project The first phase of the Rain Garden on the playground is completed. Due to the Rain Garden being installed, up to 48 million gallons of runoff water will be prevented from entering the sewer system. Upcoming Events: (Jennifer Laible) 9/25 – Picture Retake Day 10/18 – EATT 10/27 – Ribbon Cutting Ceremony for Rain Garden. Sustainable Seattle and Rainwise will be in attendance. Light refreshments will be served in the Auditorium. 10/27 – Hot Dog Dinner at 5:30. This is a fundraiser for the Washington, DC trip in 2019. 10/27 – Harvest Party from 6pm-8pm. Ellyana is looking for volunteers. 10/30 – 11/3 – Literature Week 10/31 – Literature Dress-Up Day 11/11 – Holiday Marketplace 11/17 – Thanksgiving Feast in the Auditorium at 11:30 11/20 – 11/21 – Parent/Teacher Conferences After School Committee Roles & Fundraising: (Alice Hansen) Chinook Book Orders – Due 10/6 SCRIP still available. Fairview Christian School PTF Meeting Tuesday, May 2,  2017   In Attendance:   Lonni Cerezo, Alice & Joel Hansen (Co-Presidents), Kevin Tucker (Technology), Melody McGuire, Amanda Olson (Jog-a-Thon), Holly Reichmann (CYO),  Stacy Mitchell (Playground Committee/Marketing), , Jennifer Laible (Events), Diego Laible (Student Representative) and Glenn McClimans. The meeting was opened at 6:30 pm with prayer. Upcoming Events: (Alice Hansen) Spring Program – “Little Red Riding Hood” is the K – 4 Spring Program this year. It will be held Thursday, May 11 at 7pm in the Auditorium.  Please bring a plate of cookies to share. Middle School Talent Show – The Middle School Talent Show will be held Thursday, May 18 at 7pm in the Auditorium. The Middle School is hard at work preparing a great show.  Popcorn will be served by the PTF. Jog-a-Thon – The Mini Jog-a-Thon will be held on Thursday, May 18, at 10am in the Fairview gym. The Jog-a-Thon will be held on Friday, May 19, at 10am at Maple Leaf Park.  Envelopes have been sent home and emails have been sent. This year we are making giving easy by using 99Pledges. Board Positions for 2017-2018 – Alice asked everyone to think about their current Board Position or committee commitments.  Would you like to be part of a different committee or have a different Board Position?  Would you like to add a committee? Staff Appreciation Teacher Appreciation week:  (Jennifer Laible) As of this meeting, Teacher Appreciation Week was off to a great start. Fairview Christian School PTF Meeting Tuesday, April  11, 2017   In Attendance:   Jennifer Laible (Events), Alice Hansen (Co-President), Holly Reichmann (CYO),  Stacy Mitchell (Playground Committee/Marketing), Kevin Tucker (Technology), Tricia Monsanto (Secretary),  Sherri  Hainje, Jill McAdams (Staff Appreciation), Glenn McClimans and Jo McClimans. Alice opened the meeting  at 6:30 pm with prayer. Event Feedback: (Alice Hansen) Shamrock Grams were a success and the kids really enjoyed them! Science Fair & Spaghetti Dinner was great! All displays were excellent and so was the meal! Upcoming Events: (Alice Hansen) Teacher Appreciation week:  (Jennifer Laible) Will be held the first week of May (May 1 – 5). There will be different themes every day for the week. Money can be donated in the office to offset the cost. Save the Date – April 30 Kristin B. has graciously volunteered to host a party at her house to assemble gifts for teachers. Watch for an Evite.  All mom’s will be invited. National Day of Prayer is on May 4 (Alice Hansen) – Melody will give further details soon.   In Attendance:  Valerie Dominique, Jennifer Laible (Events), Joel and Alice Hansen (Co-Presidents), Holly Reichmann (CYO), Stacey Mitchell (Playground Committee), Kevin Tucker (Technology), Tricia Monsanto (Secretary), Lonni Cerezo,  Sherri  Hainje, Whitney Haucke (Treasurer), Jill McAdams (Staff Appreciation), Diego Laible (Student Rep), Kate Henderson and Lynnann Griffin.   Meeting began at 6:28 pm with prayer. Joel opened in Prayer. Upcoming Events: (Alice) Shamrock Grams will be distributed to the kids during the week of 3/13. The will be prepared by Lori and the office staff. Science Fair & Spaghetti Dinner will be held Thursday, March 30, at 6pm. Volunteers needed. Staff Appreciation:(Jill & Jen) Birthday cards to sign for staff birthdays. Teacher Appreciation Week of May 1: (Jill and Jen) We are celebrating Teacher Appreciation Week instead of doing a Love Offering in May for teacher gifts. We are looking for ideas and volunteers. We are thinking of doing different themes every day (Mocha Monday, Treat Tuesday, etc.) but we will need a team of people. Jogathon: (Jen reporting for Amanda) Need Business sponsors! T-shirt color has been chosen and will be announced soon. Focus this year is on collective number laps as a school. Amanda would like the prize to be an experience the whole school could participate in if a certain number of laps is reached. Playground: (Stacey) Plummer assessed pipes and found that connections need to be fixed along with some drain work. Pricing for labor is being assessed with a possible spring start date.
