PTF Meeting Minutes December 7, 2016

Fairview Christian School PTF Meeting Tuesday, November 6, 2016   In Attendance:  Valerie Dominique, Jennifer Laible (Events), Alice Hansen (Co-President), Joel Hansen, Holly Reichmann (Marketing& CYO), Stephanie Arnold, Amanda Olson, Stacey Mitchell, Diego Liable (Student Representative), Bev Lehman, Whitney Haucke (Treasurer), Kevin Tucker (Technology), Tricia Monsanto (Secretary) Lonnie Cerezo. Meeting began at 6:30 pm with prayer. Alice opened in Prayer. Events: (Jen Laible) November 2 –Middle school auction -Went very well and profited $7,951.00. Total funds collected still pending.  December 8 – K-8 Christmas program December 13 – Child Center Christmas program -Still need PTF members to volunteer with Love Offering collection and other tasks. – Bring cookies to share. December 17 – Christmas Café –Kid’s artwork will be put up for display. – Bring a dish to share. January 23 – Literature week -Jan 25 – Literature Dress Up Day – Jan 26 – Scholastic Book Fair * Valerie need volunteers * Door decorations ideas for the week are pending. February 4 – Sock Hop (Stephanie Arnold) -23 volunteers will be needed and signup sheets will be out soon. -Jennifer Smith (Youth Pastor) volunteered to organize with the food options. -Funds will go towards the youth mission trip to Puerto Rico. Staff Appreciation (Jen Laible) Please sign Birthday cards to recognize our amazing staff. Jog-a-thon (Amanda Olson) -A company called “ 99 Pledges” is being considered for the pledging this year. They provide social media options like Facebook and Twitter for donations. – The theme idea is “Bubbles.” Playground Committee (Stacy Mitchell) -The $18,000 rebate from the company will cover the rain garden and the cistern. PTF Meeting Minutes November 1, 2016

In Attendance: Valerie Dominique, Jennifer Laible, Alice Hansen, Holly Reichmann, Lonni Cerezo, Stacy Mitchell, Diego Laible, Kevin Tucker, Tamara Walker, and Peter Christensen. Meeting Began 6:30 PM. Lonni opened in prayer. Upcoming Events:  Jen Laible reported on Events. 11/4/16 – Early dismissal for K-8.  Child Center open as usual.  If your child needs afternoon you need to sign up in the office by Thursday afternoon. 11/5/16 – Holiday Marketplace – The Holiday Marketplace (formerly the Holiday Bazaar) will be held this Saturday, November 5, from 9-3 in the Fairview Gym.  We will have a full house that day. Please come and kick of your Christmas shopping with Fairview.  It’s going to be a lot of fun. Fairview will have a table and we will have blank tiles for kids and adults to color if they want along with invitations for Kindergarten Round Up and the Silent Auction.  The money from table rentals will go to the missions groups and the bake sale proceeds will be split between the Youth Mission Trip and the 7th & 8th grade trip to Washington, D.C. 11/8/16 – Kindergarten Round Up – We have invited all of our Pre-K families and other interested families to our Kindergarten Round Up being held on November 8.  If you know of anyone who is looking at kindergarten for next year, please let us know so we can invite them.  Fairview is having a catered meal for interested families and a brief program to introduce our program, teachers and current families while their kids are at a pizza party upstairs. In Attendance: Valerie Dominique, Jennifer Laible (Events), Alice Hansen(Co-President), Holly Reichmann (Marketing & CYO), Lonni Cerezo, Stephanie Arnold, Tricia Monsanto (Secretary), Stacy Mitchell, Diego Laible (Student Representative), Kevin Tucker (Technology), Whitney Haucke (Treasurer), Lynnann Griffin (Marketing & Fundraising), Kristin Behrend, Tim McBride, Kate Henderson, and Aleks Gibler. Meeting began at 6:30 PM.  Alice opened in prayer. Events: (Jen Laible) 10/20/16 – The International Potluck is a chance for attendees to dress up in their native garments and  bring their favorite dish or a food item from their cultural upbringing. Dinner starts at 6pm and is followed by a Social Studies Fair in the gym. 10/28/16 – For the upcoming Harvest Party there is a sign up sheet being started for volunteers along with bringing food and cleanup.  More details will follow soon. 11/5/16 – Holiday Market Place is coming up and Vendors are needed to sell their home or local business goods. The money from table rentals will go to the missions groups and the bake sale will go toward the 7th & 8th grade trip to Washington, D.C. 11/18/16 – The Thanksgiving Feast sign- up sheet will be out soon and volunteers are needed to help with food, setup, and clean up. 12/2/16 – The Middle School Auction could use more auction items donated. Holly will be donating a YMCA membership and Alice will be making Jewelry. PTF Meeting Minutes September 6, 2016

In Attendance: Valerie Dominique, Jennifer Laible (Events), Jill McAdams, Alice Hansen (Co-President), Joel Hansen (Co-President), Holly Reichmann (Marketing & CYO), Lonni Cerezo, Sharilee West, Stephanie Arnold, Deanna Gallichan (Secretary), Amanda Olson, Stacy Mitchell, Diego Laible (Student Representative), Ginger Bouma, Kevin Tucker (Technology), Whitney Haucke (Treasurer), Carol Xu, and Hilary McWold.   Meeting began 6:30 PM. Joel opened in prayer.   EVENTS (Jen Laible) Sept 16, 2016 – Block Party – This is a non-PTF function but it’s well marketed so generally sees a large turnout. Volunteers are needed to help with the outdoor movie, set up, clean up, and other areas. Sept 18, 2016 – Convocation Sunday – All kids and families are invited. Students need to wear their formal uniforms. This is not a mandatory school event but it’s nice to have people participate. The church service is followed by fellowship time and appetizers. Sept 22, 2016 – Back to School Night & Ice Cream Social – Families enjoy ice cream and fellowship in the auditorium then teachers take the kids to play in the gym while the parents have a quick PTF meeting. After the meeting, parents and kids visit classrooms and have a chance to chat with teachers. Oct 1, 2016 – Fairview Ladies Trunk Show – This event will feature local vendors set up in booths. Invitation cards are scattered throughout the church/school. 4:00-6:00 PM in the auditorium. TBD – Celebrate Fairview Arts – This event is being organized by Pastor Dan. PTF Meeting 6/7/2016   Attendance: Susan Moriarty,  Whitney Haucke, Sharilee West, Lonni Cerezo, Bev Lehman, Kate Henderson, Alice Hansen, Joel Hansen, Amanda Olson, Holly Reichman, Jen Laible, Valerie Dominique, Korin Sandelin, Jonathan Sandelin, Samuel Sandelin, Tricia Monsanto, Lynnan Griffin, Kevin Tucker, Brent Kroon   The meeting was called to order at 6:32 with opening prayer led by Jonathan Sandelin.   May Minutes were posted on website and there were no corrections or deletions.   Mrs. C shared that she needs parent volunteers for the Luau on June 17th.  Sign up will be on second floor.  The event is from 8:30-12 and will be Pre-K – 8th grade (family groups).   The group, in attendance discussed board positions: President – Alice and Joel Hansen Treasurer – Whitney Haucke Secretary – open Events Chair – Jen Laible Fundraising Chair – Lynnann Griffin Marketing – Holly/Lynnann Technology – Kevin CYO Sports – Holly Jog-a-thon – Amanda Playground – Open Student Rep – Diego Teacher Appreciation (cookies) – Jill McAdams EAT – Open   Events –                         Jen said that volunteers are needed for field day 8th Grade graduation and awards ceremony is next week Jen shared that potentially instead of staff appreciation as one event – we do a weeklong teacher appreciation week at the beginning of May.  The group agreed that this could be a great idea.  Seed money for this project will be from families that did not fulfill their volunteer hour requirement.
