I am a teacher because I like to interact with students and their families. I love to see the light go on as a new concept or skill is discovered. My class is full of active, curious, and loving kids. The highlight of the day is when they give me a smile and show me their excitement to learn. I was blessed to grow up in a Christian home and then attended a Christian college. Though I always knew about Christ, I made a personal commitment at the age of 11 at a Christian Family Camp in California. I know that God is my provider and my Father and feel honored to teach in a Christian school with such a great group of committed teachers. I enjoy scrapbooking (when I can find the time) and reading Christian Fiction. I have enjoyed learning how to knit and enjoy making practical kitchen items like dishcloths, scrubbies and pot holders. I am completing my 8th year at Fairview and have found it to be a fulfilling place to serve and teach! When my family moved to Seattle, it was a homecoming for my husband who grew up in King County and spent college years and beyond in Seattle.
